Worship Setlist: October 23 + 30, 2011

Worship was great the past two weeks in The Bridge. Bruce taught on prayer to finish our study through the book of James. It’s been an awesome series with Bruce expositing each verse.

Here’s what we sang the past two weeks in The Bridge:

Worship Setlist: October 16, 2011

Yesterday was a great day of worship and fellowship. We had an amazing time of prayer and worship in The Bridge and then our annual church wide fellowship at Smiley Hollow last night. Mark preached in The Bridge yesterday morning and challenged us with a message about our prayer life. “Your relationship with Jesus Christ will never rise above your prayer life.” Boom. Powerful.

Here’s what we sang in worship yesterday:

  • Say Say – Kristian Stanfill, “Passion: Awakening”
  • O Praise Him – David Crowder Band, “Illuminate”
  • With Everything – Hillsong United, “This Is Our God (Live)”
Did you enjoy these songs? Leave me some feedback so we can continue making the music at First Baptist better and better!

I went to Catalyst Conference last week. If you haven’t heard of it, you really need to check it out. It’s three days of in your face teaching and preaching and laughing and worship. Such a refreshing time for me. Sometimes you need to be ripped away from the usual and the routine just to get a breath of fresh air. Mark Satterfield listed his top ten quotes from Catalyst here.

Needless to say we had a great time of worship in The Bridge this past Sunday. Here’s what we sang:

Are there songs you’d like us to do?

Worship Setlist: September 4, 2011

Yesterday was Labor Day. So I didn’t labor. That’s why I’m doing this today!

We had a really great time of worship in The Bridge on Sunday. A lot of technical stuff went wrong on my end, and I just had to give up, take my own advice, and let it be awkward. Once I had let go, I was able to worship. Chad Hutton filled in for Mark, and did a fantastic job challenging us during the service. You should check out his blog here and his twitter page here. He’s a brilliant, stylish man with a huge heart for Jesus. And he loves Cracker Barrel oatmeal.

Here’s what we sang in The Bridge this past Sunday:

Did you like these songs? Are there ways we can improve The Bridge services?

Top 5 Worship Songs

I’m always curious to know what songs other worship leaders are using in their services. Every local body of believers is different and carries a unique personality, but I’m sure there are some certain songs that trend the sea of modern worship gatherings.

Right now, these are 5 of the songs we love doing in our service:

With Everything – Hillsong United

Always – Kristian Stanfill

Like A Lion – David Crowder*Band

Christ Is Risen – Matt Maher

Rise And Sing – Fee

What are your top 5 worship songs right now?

Worship Setlist: August 14, 2011

Yesterday was crazy. Crazy. I was at the church from 6:30 until 1. Non-stop, baby. It was awesome. I played electric up in the 11:00 Worship Center service, so I had to get here earlier than normal to set up that stuff. Then, I had to set up some new toys I got for The Bridge, so I ran down to the Fellowship Hall to get that corn a’poppin.

The Bridge service was great. Technically, not so much, but there was a great spirit in the room. With all the new gear, I forgot to check all my batteries and stuff died on me in the middle of the service. The taping of Bruce’s video message was all whacked out, so Mark had to come up and teach the rest of the sermon on the fly. He did a fanflippingtastic job, I must say. And I loved being able to play down in the Worship Center with those guys.

Here’s our setlist from The Bridge service yesterday:

  • Lord Of All – Kristian Stanfill, “Attention”  |  iTunes
  • Awakening – Chris Tomlin, “And If Our God Is For Us”  |  iTunes
  • Revelation Song – Kari Jobe, “Kari Jobe”  |  iTunes
  • Song Of Hope – Robbie Seay Band, “Give Yourself Away”  |  iTunes

That was a really fun set to play. I hope you have a great week. Dig into the Word this week! Oh, and you should most definitely check out Mark Satterfield’s new website: http://reachingyoungadults.com/. He’s got some great stuff on there about, you know, reaching young adults type stuff.
