Music Monday

Hey friend. Yesterday was a great day at First Baptist Hendersonville. Our Pastor, Bruce Chesser, led us in a spontaneous baptism service in The Bridge services, and it was pretty amazing. He had been wanting to do this for years (literally), so he finally did it in our main Worship Center services back in October and did it in our services yesterday (I say ‘our’ because those are the services I lead worship for, so it’s all I know…).

We saw 18 people follow Jesus in obedience by baptism. Their faces were so rich with emotion and joy, it was hard not to get choked up in the midst of it all. Several of them were “first time commitments”, so we were looking at brand new children of God – new creations in their first waking moments of a new life as a Jesus-follower. Pretty awesome stuff.

I’ve decided to start posting the Sunday set-list for The Bridge every Monday. Several people have asked me for a list or CD of the songs that we do, and while I can’t morally or legally burn a billion CDs to distribute to everyone, I can post a listing of the songs we have sung the day before. I’ll include all the necessary information to help you find and support the artists and their music along with any available Youtube links for quick viewing.

And, in good Southern Baptist alliterationary fashion, I’ll call it “Music Monday”. For now. Until I think of something way awesomer.

Here you go!
